Luna's Tattoo ukuleles take their design from traditional hawaiian bodyornamentation. The designs were monochromatic, tattooed in blackagainst brown skin. The patterns and layout were strongly geometricand there were many shapes and symbols which represented thenatural island world:stones, waves, fish, sharks, turtles, rain, sun, birds.The design is primarily based on waves and sharks teeth which are alsoechoed as fret markers.
