The bass originally designed on a napkin! It's no secret that we have worked closely with Grammy Nominated band, Fireflight for years now. Upon discovering Wendy Drennen was looking for a 5-string bass that would hold up to her strict touring schedule, there wasn't much standing in the way of the inception of the 'low-dow on this feature packed bass. One of the biggest hurdles was building a 5-string strong enough to handle the low tones, but making it weigh in at under 10lbs. After a few 'tweeks' we came in at just under 10! The shape was contrived from a drawing that Wendy sent us of a drawing on a napkin of her ideas for the bass. Some of the features include; neck thru construction, active preamp, mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, the new Sozo patented 'Z' brass tailpiece, factory straplocks, and all Sozo models now ship in a deluxe fitted hardshell case, at no extra charge!
